5 out of 5 stars Explore the joy of vegetables   August 21, 2006
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

This DVD introduces the fun and flavors of vegetarian cuisine. Get away from the idea that this food is boring because it is so good for you. Not so! Colleen will guide you with humor and skill into what I hope will be a rewarding way of eating and living. This DVD contributes greatly to the health of individuals, and of the planet, too. From savory to sweets, the recipes are easy to follow, and the results are sooo good!

4 out of 5 stars Good for New Vegetarians   July 27, 2006

I am a new vegetarian, and this DVD really helped me get out of the Veggie-burger-rut! They explain things in very simple terms and I feel that they really gear their explanations and insights towards beginner vegetarians, such as myself. Would make a good gift for someone thinking about becoming a vegetarian.

5 out of 5 stars Delicious Recipes   July 27, 2006

I was so excited to see that this DVD was available and immediately purchased it. Absolutely love it and the recipes are delicious. Now all we need is some more vegan cooking DVD's on the market and YES it would be wonderful to have such a program on the Food Network! Unfortunately, they do not accept ideas/concepts from the masses, but they will accept already established cooking shows on TV/PBS/Cable.

5 out of 5 stars For those who like to eat.   July 26, 2006

This great DVD offers delicious recipes that are quick and easy to follow. Sure, since it is a DVD, it's not going to showcase dozens upon dozens of meals such as, say, a cookbook would. But if you're a fan of the Food Network and cooking shows in general, you'll be thrilled-- whether or not you're even vegetarian. And if you do happen to be one of the many people harboring the misconception that you can only eat healthy and humanely at the expense of taste, this DVD will open your eyes... and your palate.

3 out of 5 stars Few recipes and more promotions   June 19, 2006

If you want to read the positive features of this DVD, read the hyped up good review posts below. Probably they were written by animal right advocates. If it is so good one wonders why there is a growing number (over 30 as of this writing for a recent release product like this) of folks desperately trying to sell off this DVD in the used section.

I watched this DVD the way some people watch the paint dry. Initially it was nice to see two beautiful young ladies talk but after a while is gets so boo-rr-ing. There are 7 recipes in total out of which 2 are how to make junk food - cookies and chocolate cake. And don't forget to take down notes since there is no printed recipes or recipes in file inside the DVD or any links to download them from their website. If you have to re-watch this DVD to review before cooking, make sure you have a functioning fast forward button.

The editing was more sloppy than your neighbor's home movie. It looks like a 2 camera shooting with one camera on the tripod all the time and the second camera for closeups with long clip durations.

Then there is chunk of sponsored video on animal rights. I am for animal rights but I got this DVD to learn vegetarian cooking. Maybe they should have included more recipes. The FAQs are pathetic. Questions are like "what is cholesterol? I can understand if they were answered by a physician or a PhD in Nutrition which is more authoritative. These information can be easily googled. Do these ladies seriously think their audience are imbeciles?

I would rather give 1 star or less but in all fairness and not to discourage the enthusiastic ladies who have the grandiose plan to save this world, I am giving this DVD a 3 star. I will join the bee-line to list mine in the used section.
