This collar can also be used with any other current Innotek containment system where "containment only" is required. Water resistant; replaceable battery. A Containment System is the cost-effective alternative to traditional fencing. You create an in-ground hidden fence using a boundary wire. The detailed instructional video and/or DVD guides you through the easy-to-follow self-installation process.When your dog is wearing a containment collar and approaches the boundary area, he hears a warning tone. If he continues toward the boundary, he receives a harmless but effective electrical stimulus that reminds him to stay in the "safe" part of the yard. You can also use a containment system to block off areas such as gardens, swimming pools, or anywhere else you don't want your dog to go.  Good as a fence, but goes off randomly while inside September 17, 2008
This is the second replacement we've gotten and it seems all of them just go off randomly. Not good when you are trying to train the dogs, but at least it only seems to happen when we're inside. So just make sure that you remove the collars when you let the dogs into the house because they will get zapped for no reason.

I purchased this to replace an above groung electric fence for our dogs. They rarely got close to that fence and now that is replaced w/ this underground fence they still stay away from that area. I love not having to take the old fence down eveytime I need to mow.
