Nice for Mixing October 11, 2008

I decided to try and get my cats to eat this because of the horrors of factory farming. I was a bit nervous though about going 100% for my male cats and frankly I don't think they would go for it. I use it to supplement their food. Half (to 2/3) of this mixed in with half Pet Promise. Pet Promise uses NO factory farmed animals. They are now getting the ultimate healthy and animal friendly option I can give them. I just wish my local pet health food stores would carry this.

My cats LOVE this food! I find the texture right out of the can is very thick, so I put it in a covered dish and add 2/3 can of water, a 1/2 teaspoon VegeCat PH and a heaping teaspoon of VegeYeast. It lasts a bit longer and my cats like the gravy-like texture. Sometimes I also buy seitan in the grocery store and chop it into small chunks and mix it in for a meaty texture. My one cat was prone to crystals on an all-natural but meat-based pet food, but once he went onto a vegan diet with VegeCat PH and VegeYeast mixed in to control the acidity of his urine, he's the healthiest he has ever been! Both my cats have more energy, nicer coats, and are impressing their veterinarian.  Evolution Diet Cat & Dog Food is the Best February 14, 2008
My pets (1 Dog and 2 Cats) have been on Evolution Diet for years. Both my cats love the food and have been on it since they were 4 months old. My younger cat was very sick when I brought her home and I was nervous about putting her on a vegei diet until she was well. My Vet uses this product and recommended that I switch right away because it's such a high quality food. Once I put her on Evolution she had a speedy recovery. Everyone that has had contact with my pets have made comments on how beautiful their fur is.

Although I like the idea of this product, my cats hated it. One is very picky, so no surprise there, but the other eats anything! He was meowing and excited but when I put the bowl down he sniffed it and reared his head back and completely snubbed it. I can't tell you how shocked I was by his reaction. I ordered it direct from the company, so it wasn't spoiled. I have to give it 1 star because neither of my cats would touch it.

One of my two cats, Vladimir, recently got incredibly sick from Nutro food. It wasn't listed in the pet food recall, but several pet parents have had sick dogs and cats from this "premium" food. I spent $3,200 in vet's bills and had many anguished nights. The vet put him on a perscription food, but that one has also been recalled recently...arg! Fearful for their health, I fed them tuna (I know, not the best option), and though Vladi maintained his health, my house REEKED of fish. Praise the lord for Evolution! They love the taste of this, it smells good (and tastes good too...I tried a bit, and I'd totally eat it) and I'm not grossed out by touching it. I feel great that my cats are eating food that I like, both for it's nutrition and for its ethics. I'm going to be an Evolution costomer for life!
