These boots are a bit pricey for faux leather (I'm only expecting them to last one season) but I purchased them because I have very skinny calves (11") and these are slip-on boots made tighter and meant to stretch out to accommodate wider calves. The website says the circumference is 13" but there is only about a 1/2 to 1 inch gap at the top. Nothing too obvious, especially with tights. I wear a 7 and chose my true shoe size but I intend to exchange them for a half size larger and just put cork inserts because the pointy portion of the boot is very narrow and the leather is hard. I gave it three stars for the fit around the calf area and the overall look of the shoe, but I would not say that it is a boot you can wear to walk around in during the day.
