 Great shoes September 9, 2008
I love these. Finally shoes that fit and well made ones at that.
I usually wear out a pair of shoes in 6 months or less. This is my
second pair in two years. I still haven't worn out the first. Tough enough!

After reading the reviews here i purchased the shoe. I was really expecting something special. The Brooks beast(running shoe) is probably the most comfortable motion control athletic shoe on the market. The Addiction walker on the other hand is neither soft nor has the motion control features of the beast. The tongue is cut too low it digs into the front of my ankle. This shoe is wayyyyyyyyyyyy overpriced. Even at 70 bucks its way too much. Knowing what i do now i would have purchased one of the Saucony walking shoes instead...........................

When I first started running, I became aware that running required specialized shoes which had to be fitted to suit your particular foot type. After getting fitted, I was amazed at how comfortable running shoes were and I began wearing them as street shoes wherever possible. Lots of people have discovered the same thing. Just look around. But let's face it, running shoes, comfortable though they may be, are inappropriate gear under many circumstances. Then I discovered walking shoes. They were constructed in much the same way as running shoes. Most walkers were manufactured by running-shoe companies. Plus, most of them had leather tops and the tops came in several colors. I opted for black leather. As such, I had a shoe with the comfort of a running shoe, but without the gaudy appearance. I've now worn out three pair and my present shoes are the Brooks Addiction Walker.
The Brooks Walker is a fine shoe. It's well made, comfortable, durable and reasonably good-looking for an athletic shoe. I can use them for all but the most formal situations. Furthermore, this particular shoe is built for people with flat, over-pronating feet, one of my basic problems in my running days. The shoe has worked particularly well for me in that I'm on concrete most of every day and I need a cushioned shoe with the comfort built in. My first pair is getting well worn and I've already purchased a second pair (Walker 2), just to make certain I've got a replacement. I have one (hopefully) minor problem. My original Walkers came in B width, but the Walker 2 comes in M, which is probably a little wider. Finding narrow shoes in my size is difficult. Running-shoe companies are notorious for changing models just after you've found your perfect shoe. The Brooks shoe fit my needs perfectly and I'm very pleased to have found it. Hopefully, the Walker 2 will work equally well. I feel sorry for people who have to go through life wearing ordinary shoes.

I bought these shoes for someone who is on their feet all day long. I read some of the reviews about how good these shoes are and decided to buy them. The person I got them for loves them and he says they are so comfortable! Highly recommended!
