Tanita's HealthyTrack is based on Tanita's patented Step Down Goal Weight Tracking technology. First, the scale automatically establishes your Ultimate Goal Weight based on the ideal Body Mass Index (BMI) that you will strive to meet. (Always consult your doctor before you start any weight management program.) Then, once your goal weight has been established, the HD340 divides the Ultimate Goal Weight into smaller, attainable steps. By setting these steps, the scale helps to keep you motivated day-to-day as you work to meet your ultimate weight loss goal. The scale tracks the progress of your weight change and shows a percentage toward your goal weight with a bar graph. Rewards and progress are displayed for each step-by-step achievement towards your ultimate goal weight. Because everyone is unique in how they set their goals, this scale allows users to choose from three different modes to fit any comfort level:
- Classic Mode has an LCD display with your actual weight, weight change (loss/gain) from previous reading, weight change (loss/gain) since the start of your program, percent achieved toward the "target goal weight," and the total percent achieved with each step.

 HD340 is an expensive piece of junk -- been through 2 and both failed October 9, 2007
If you want an easy to use, accurate, reliable scale, stay away from this model. I bought one and it never worked properly. I returned it to the manufacturer for repairs, and when it came back, nothing was fixed. In both forms, new and repaired, the scale has been a nightmare. Here are the problems:
1. It is incredibly inaccurate. In my case, the weight ranged from 10 to 12 pounds too low, new and repaired (perhaps that's why Jenny Craig has her name on this - her customers will think they've lost ten pounds the moment they step on this junker). And the weight readings are inconsistent. With the scale in exactly the same spot on a ceramic tile floor, readings varied more than a pound from one weighing to another, with the weighings only a few seconds apart.
2. The programming buttons are a nightmare to operate, largely because they don't work as claimed. The programming for time and date worked ok, but none of the other programming features could be set up, no matter what I did.
3. The instruction manual that comes with the scale is far short of what it should be. For example, there are not enough details about error messages that appear on the screen (and they appear very frequently).
I can't think of a single redeeming quality for this scale. My advice: don't waste your money. You can easily find something twice as good for half the price.
I think it's a disgrace that a product with so many inherent flaws can be pawned off on people under a brand name like Jenny Craig.

The original scale I bought weighed about 9 pounds too light, the replacement scale weighs heavy by about 9 pounds against 2 doctor's scales. It cost me $17 to return it; to pay another $17 to return your crummy scale, I could have almost bought a new one. I waited on hold for over 1/2 hour on their customer suppor line today and I can't hold anymore. I asked them to please make sure the replacement scale is tested to be accurate at 300, 325, 350, 375 and 400 pounds. I asked for this on the replacement, and obviously this was not done.

I was tired of my old scale with a shaky pointer so I ordered this its soo high tech and has everything you could want in a scale..i like it a lot.

I really like the features of this scale, especially the multiple-person memory, which allows for all members of the family to track their weight goals. It might cost a little more than other scales, but it is definitely worth it!

This scale is not only easy to opperate but very accurate. The numbers are very easy to read and store to see your progress.
