Amazon.com Product Description
This Kensington FM transmitter/auto charger transmits your iPod tunes through your car stereo while simultaneously charging its battery, making it a versatile two-in-one bargain. The unit includes such features as red and green LED indicators that signal the transmitting and charging states, phase-lock-loop technology that easily connects with one of eight FM channel options, and ClearFM technology, which provides crisp highs, deep lows, and up to 50 dB of stereo separation. Adding to the topnotch sound quality is Kensington's patented Aerielle wireless technology, which ensures premium sound with far less background hiss than other FM transmitters. And even though the transmitter/charger is designed for the car, the transmitter portion also works inside the home, with a range of up to 15 feet. Compatible with any iPod with a dock connector--including the iPod nano 1G, iPod nano 2G, iPod mini, iPod 3G, iPod 4G (Click Wheel), iPod color, and iPod 5G/5.5G Video--the Kensington FM transmitter/charger is backed by a five-year warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Works great. Super price.   May 27, 2008
Must say this was one of the best Christmas presents that came out of Santa's bag this year! I researched a lot of these transmitters before I purchased one and this one really works! I use it on one setting in my vehicle and the other vehicle uses it on another radio station and both are fantastic. Very little static. I mean, you will get some, but its really not a bother...tends to be in certain areas with a lot of towers or transmitters around. We live in a fairly rural area, but travel a lot in a very busy metro area and get very little interference. I have had 2 other people purchase them since I got mine and they feel the same way. Stop shopping and buy this one. I rarely rave about a produce, but after 6 mos of use we are very pleased with the results. Definitely the right price for what you get.

5 out of 5 stars Transmitter first rate   November 8, 2007
I have enjoyed this FM transmitter for eleven months. I like the fact all the controls are right in the base to the lighter. It is easy to find your channel because the design of the frequency switches. With one click, you can go from 88.3 to 107.3. This has been a great addition to my IPod.

1 out of 5 stars Does not work   September 4, 2007
No reception on any of the available frequencies. I live in a rural area with plenty of un-used frequencies and should have had no problem with the signal. It is a cheap piece of junk and I would never recommend it to anyone. I would give it a zero star rating, but it wasn't an option.

4 out of 5 stars A great, inexpensive choice!   June 8, 2007
First of all, I am NOT an audiophile....I just run a stock stereo in my car, nothing fancy. This works very well for me....there is a slight hiss at high volume, but turn it down just a notch and it sounds fine. I didn't have a hard time finding a station at all. Overall, it was well worth the money I spent on it!

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   March 10, 2007

I got this charger/transmitter as a present and I love it! I honestly feel like I "can't live without it!" The signal strength is great, it charges the iPod while it transmits, and it only costs slightly more than a transmitter that doesn't charge! I did wear this out after only one year of use. I would have bought a new one immediately but couldn't find this model in any of the local stores so I tried out several others and they just didn't compare. In the end I tossed the others and bought this one again. My husband just bought himself an iPod and I'm getting him one of these transmitters. We're very happy with this one!

Pros:
Charges AND transmits - my iPod battery is NEVER low!

Easy to switch from car to car - great when you have a car rental

good signal strength - expiremented and husband got clear signal 3-5 car
lengths ahead of me

cost - not much more expensive than a transmitter w/out charger

doesn't require batteries, plugs into the cigarette adapter instead

turns off when you turn off your car

The cord length is fairly long, allowing a nice radius for you to place
your iPod

Cons:
Wore my first one out after about a year

iPod turns off when engine shuts down so every time you restart the car
you have to restart your iPod, not a big deal unless you're sitting
around waiting for someone and you turn the engine on and off while
you're waiting - even then it's a small inconvenience

It's not easy to switch the frequency while driving

Only 8 frequencies to choose from (although that has never actually been a
problem for me, it could be for you)

Other:
Tried several different kinds - this def the best, better signal than any
other I have tried

Even after the transmitter wore out the charger still worked
