Product Description "Here presented in the very matter-of-fact detailed and mischievous way that children themselves tend to explore such issues is everything a child could want to know about the nose and what comes out of it. The text delightfully illustrated with bold funny sketches moves quickly through holes in people s and animal s noses hairs in noses stuffy noses dripping noses and bleeding noses. Parents may blanch or stifle chuckles when the text winds up for the single most interesting aspect of noses from a child s-eye view. Complete with arrows the illustrations detail how this transformation occurs while the text continues: Boogers are made from dirt so they re dirty. Even if you line them up neatly like this they re still dirty. The Holes in Your Nose...perfectly reflects the sensibilities of a culture in which there is nothing wrong with telling people that they ve gained weight and that there are pimples on their faces. After that frankness about the mundane workings of the body is par for the course." - The New York Times Book Review

Entertaining and a fun read for any two year old~! February 6, 2010 Terri L. Hagenmayer This book was a gift to my grandson for Christmas and he wants it read over and over again. Books are his favorite right now so we can't spoil him with too many.
A Boring Treatment of an Interesting Body Part May 23, 2009 Shanna A. Gonzalez (Gaithersburg, MD) Another book in the spirit of Everyone Poops, but without the same humor or simplicity. It opens with comparisons of different people's nose holes, and proceeds to animals' nose holes (the dolphin has one on top of its head; seals and hippos can close theirs to go underwater). The content of "boogers" is described, and there's an explanation of how the nose and mouth are connected. There's a little experimentation, where children are asked to hold their nose and try to talk, and a bit of non-essential body humor: "Wed the holes in my dose are sdubbed ub, I candt sbell id eved wed I fart."
Young children are fascinated with the aspects of their body which they are not allowed to talk about, and this book attempts to bring a lighthearted, scientific understanding to this oft-overlooked body part. However, the artwork is below mediocre, the text is unexciting, and there are better books that cover this topic without being boring.
Breaking Preschool Habits!! January 10, 2007 Sidney Horton (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has been helpful with my current preschool nose pickers. Some of them have cut down on their habit. Books go along way in reinforcing a teacher's opinion!
Must Have!!!! April 9, 2005 S. Dixon (Lakeside) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Every child loves these books! I even read this one to my sons Kindergarden class, I never heard them so quiet!!! It is lovely and geared for kids just learning all about crazy things our bodies do!!!!!
Hits and misses with this one... October 31, 2003 T. Reinhardt (east coast) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Overall if you liked *Everyone Poops* you'll probably like this one....just not nearly as much.I have to say that while the whole family really enjoyed *everyone poops* which was innovative and funny in a laugh out loud sort of way this one kind of smacked of "how can i do something similar again?" The jokes are somewhat similar in that they are of the body humor variety but with this book they are more of the gross-out variety as opposed to the innovative sort. That said, that kind of subtlty tends to get lost on children. My son found this book just as much of a hoot as the poop book. His sense of humor isnt, shall we say, all that sophisticated and *going for the gross-out* in his case might be considered a plus. So while I, as a mom, didn't find this to be anywhere near as good as the other book, I think my son enjoyed it as much and since it was a book for him, I have to say that ultimately it was a good purchase.
