Excellent resource for a new Vegetarian August 10, 2010 R. Haacke (Utah USA) This is an excellent guide for a new vegetarian, and for anyone who wants to know more about nutrition! Very detailed, this book has really helped me to plan my meals for my family - it has vegetarian food guides for all stages of life, even for preschoolers! It gives specific details about nutrients, the best way to get the most out of each food group, and includes great recipes. I highly recommend this book!
Good reference August 4, 2010 Steve (New Jersey) Has a lot of good information for new vegetarians, especially how to make sure you get all the essential nutrients you need. Relatively easy reading, with enough info to keep you healthy.

There is a lot of good nutrional information. The author spent a little too much time going into exactly how changing your diet to vegetarianism is going save you from disease. I was very disappointed in the recipes, especially the sandwich recipes. With the exception of one, all of the other 9 choices were a soy-meat substitute. I've been a vegetarian for two months and I'm more creative with veggie pitas, wraps and sandwiches than the author is with her soy-meat substitute lunches.
Very informative! December 20, 2009 T. Lovell (Murphy, NC) I really enjoyed reading this book. I learned a lot about how to pair foods for maximum health benefits and which vitamins and minerals to be aware of in a vegetarian lifestyle. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about how their body uses the foods we eat (not just for vegetarians!).
New Vegetarian December 19, 2009 C. Shell I ordered the book because I am interested in making the transition to being a vegetarian. Didn't realize how many different "types" of vegetarians there are. I haven't finished reading the book, but so far the information is helpful. Not sure I can get my family to make the transition and wonder how one cooks for a vegetaring/nonvegetarian family.
