Oyster sauce sans oysters November 21, 2008
In Chinese restaurants I can pretend that no meat touches my food in the kitchen and that the oyster sauce
really doesn't have any fish or mollusks in it but at home I can see exactly what is going into the food I prepare
and therefore it is very important for me to have it be truly vegetarian. This sauce is very good and flavorful
with no fish. It is nice and thick, like ketchup so stays on food and not bottom of plate. Very pungent, a little
goes a long way.
