Spanish black Empeltre olives have a full olive taste, with a tender bite and tangy flavor. Because they are cured all naturally their true flavor comes out. Unlike most olives, these are cured with just water and salt, the traditional way. Most versions of black olives are actually green olives treated with chemicals to dye them black. Empeltres on the other hand have a natural purplish black, fully ripened color. They are packed in their jars with no liquid at all, and are ready to be enjoyed. They are delicious as a tapa with a good glass of Spanish wine.
