 sweet, tart and scrumptious! November 2, 2008
these are awesome! i feel a burst of sunshine and energy when i eat a handful of these. so tart and yummy. and full of antioxidants. great in salads, smoothies (soaked, because they are have little tough parts on the top i guess where they were picked), pudding and really good in a snack bag with a few squares of super dark chocolate and dried cherries (a little treat i keep in the car). and one bag lasts a long time!

The taste is bitter, like some reviewers mentioned. It also has a pungent taste after the bitterness subsides. Very sour. Somehow it also tastes a little spicy, which was odd. We can't eat it just like any other snacks. Probably best as cooking ingredient or for making smoothies. As one reviewer pointed out, these don't look particularly fresh to us once we opened the bag. But then the expiry date is like one year away.

I ordered this item after trying Kopali brand of Goldenberries bought from Whole Foods. To my dismay the quality and freshness of Navitas Goldenberries were not as good as Koplai. These berries tasted a bit bitter, and not as juicy.

I originally discovered these dried berries at Trader Joes, and found them here, on Amazon, when T J discontinued them. I love these berries, and how convenient it is to get them now.
Tart, delicious, great in trail mix, but very expensive February 17, 2008
If you get over the price, this is a great healthy snack. I don't eat them straight as they are too tart, but the make a great trail mix when mixed with granola, nuts, etc.
